Video of Your Before and After Pics Works Better

Video

Video is now!

It’s hot and it will remain so for the foreseeable future or until, as Maria says, you can start tasting TV.

Why?

Because it engages more of the viewer’s senses. And as such involves them more fully in the conversation, although not as good as being there in person.

Home stagers interested in maximizing the value of their web sites to sell their skills and the value of home staging should be learning the tips and tricks of creating videos.  It’s not hard to do an acceptable job, and you should go with acceptable until you learn how to do better.

I have been experimenting with video for some time now, content with what I call my “Talking Head Dungeon Shots.”  These have been basic videos of me expounding on whatever my topic of the day happened to be. Now let me tell you, I am still proud of these.

For they represent me doing something new, and stretching myself a bit. Maria Andros though has challenged me to take my videos to another level, and given me some concrete things to think about in the creation of future videos.

All of this is a preamble to a new product launch she will be opening next week. So far she has shared three videos, and some pdf’s that have been more than worthwhile for me. I encourage you to grab them too, even if you aren’t already doing videos.

This link will take you to the third of the three videos released so far, but you can and should go to the first two and watch them as well. I particularly found the second one worthwhile.

Enough so that I set out and visited Fort Snelling which is within a long walk from my house and created the following video. It’s not anywhere near the standards Maria would want – expect I know she would give me kudoo’s for taking action and making it, even though its not perfect.

Now in the video I talk at the end about my Google Places Book. People who have grabbed their copy and taken action, are seeing results. It’s not quite overnight but it is getting them to the first page of Google.  So it’s well worth grabbing if you are in a local based business like Home Staging.

It can help put you on the map and get you more calls from prospects in your town.

I also used it to put my Toastmaster group on the first page of a search for Toastmasters Minneapolis and its resulted in several prospective members already.

It wasn’t what I meant to end the video with though. I had originally planned on doing a call to action to encourage people to check out Maria’s free videos while they are still available. I hope you will. They are likely to be taken down when her product goes live on Tuesday, although I don’t know that for sure.

But that said, I still would like to help you get to the first page of Google the easy way. So be sure to check it out as well.

Oh by the way, would you please tweet this blog post? There’s a button at the very top. Do me a favor and tweet this to your followers. I’d appreciate it.

Setting up a web page is only the beginning to online marketing. Now you need to get it seen by potential customers. This used to be challenging in many markets, but there has been a big change in what matters. Today, what matters is being seen on the Google Places Page, and you don't even need to have a web site to do that. (although you should.) The good news is that its free, and if you know what you are doing, you can maneuver yourself to the top listing in many markets. That's one of the skill sets I bring to the table. If you would like to get your Google Places Page properly set up send me an email at enetwal@gmail.com and put "Free Initial Evaluation" or something similar in the subject line. Be sure to include your current web site and contact info.

Home Staging to Sell: Expert Real Estate Tips

Uncategorized, Video

I like video. People watch videos, which is why its a great idea to produce your own to display on your web site or blog. But also on You Tube. You tube is the world’s second largest search engine and growing fast. When you do create a video make sure you put your URL to your web site or blog as the very first thing in the Description box, and then tell people to click on it in your video or by way of annotations within the video.

That will help you get traffic and backlinks to your site.

Then write an article for the article directories and put a link to both your video and to your site in the resource box for the article. That will help drive traffic to both and increase viewers to your video on YouTube. This second step will help raise the video within YouTube and start you on your way to enhanced results from your YouTube efforts.

This video doesn’t need to be long. The following video is only a little over 2 minutes long and focuses on decluttering. Keep it simple and short and on topic.

Home Staging Tips for Top Dollar Sale of your Home

Video

Here is a great home staging video by Susan Botticelli, Realtor, Broker and Home Staging Expert. Susan specializes in residential sales in the Rancho San Diego area of El Cajon, California.that shows home staging tips as applied to the various rooms of a San Diego, California house.

A solid video like this could be pieced together by most any active home stager and used to market themselves. It takes some before and after video pictures, a clear narrative as to what was done and why, and some editing.

The net result is a great marketing piece you can put on YouTube and your own blogs or websites. You do want to do YouTube, because it will not only provide traffic to your web site but also a powerful backlink that could appear high on your local search engines in its own right.
